About Spoon Market

Spoon Market began in June 2011 as a small deli and market with about 14 seats on South Market Street in downtown Wooster. Owners Jordan, Jeff, and Patrice Smith set out to build a neighborhood gathering place with house-baked breads and pastries, quality cheeses, premium pantry staples, and a thoughtful selection of wine and Ohio craft beer.

In April 2016 the family purchased the historic Excelsior Building at 144 West Liberty Street and moved Spoon Market into its current home. The space grew, but the goal stayed the same: honest food, familiar faces, and a downtown spot that still feels like a local hangout.

Today the first floor is Spoon Market & Deli, where guests order breakfast, lunch, espresso drinks, and bar selections throughout the week. Our catering team handles office lunches, showers, and larger celebrations with the same kitchen recipes served in the dining room.

Upstairs, the Excelsior Room hosts weddings, fundraisers, and private parties for up to 250 guests. Hardwood floors, period woodwork, and a three-story glass atrium give the room a bright, classic feel. Browse the event gallery to see how other hosts have styled the space.

We want every visit to feel welcoming and worth repeating. Stop in, meet the team on our staff page, or call (330) 262-0880 with questions about dining, delivery, or booking an event.
